Job Description: |
General Position Summary
The Project Officer will be responsible for providing technical support to the Mercy Corps Project Implementation Unit (MC-PIU) for the implementation of NFM III Grant in the MC-PIU districts while working closely with the Regional coordinators, Data Management team, Security, Operations and Finance Departments.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Regional Coordinators for timely preparation of Monthly Workplan
- Submit the revised Workplan in case of any changes in the plan
- Consolidate and submit Lab performance reports form all the PIU districts
- Consolidate and submit External Quality Assurance (EQA) reports of the PPM Labs form all the PIU districts
- Ensure details of health facilities are updated in coordination with RCs; and are consistent in all the documents
- Work closely with RCs and Data management Officer for the development of monthly progress report and other reviews
- In close coordination with RCs and PM prepare other reports e.g World TB Day Report
- Coordinate with RCs for documentation of mapping exercise for selection of PPM doctors/ hospitals, labs, pharmacies, large hospitals, and Xpert sites as per the mapping and operational guidelines
- Field visits (as required) to provide support to the field team in implementing TB program
- Maintain district-wise record of goods received and distributed e.g PPEs; microscopes, R&R Tools etc.
- Maintain district-wise records of MoUs with GPs, Labs, Expert sites, ECF hospitals, large hospitals
- Conduct Program quality audits and other related reviews in coordination with PM
- Participate in meetings and document as required and share findings and recommendations
- Maintain all the Program reports in a timely manner, with accuracy and only in the recommended templates
- Maintain all the MC-PIU Program records as per the Record retention Guidelines
- Prepare estimates for the stationary items required for the Gene Xpert sites, procure and distribute stationary to the XPert sites in a timely manner.
- Ensure implementation of MC policies and procedures at all levels including code of conduct
- Any other task assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge and Experience
- Master’s degree in social sciences or degree in relevant discipline.
- At least three years’ experience in Project Implementation
- Knowledge of TB and experience of working in TB projects will be a plus
- Must be a good team player and excellent in meeting timelines
- Excellent computer skills are must
- Excellent communication and writing skills are essential
