Orcas is a fast-growing startup in the Edtech industry. We’re a learning platform that connects students with tutors and offers educational content to our learners.
Orcas is looking for a Market Launcher who is a multi-talent team player and can launch Orcas activities in Pakistan. The Launcher will lead Orcas’ expansion into the Pakistani market and will own everything from strategy to execution of plans.
Role Summary
This role requires an entrepreneur mentality and attitude with a lot of on-ground work, local team hiring/onboarding, setting up frameworks for operations, community management, market launch design and execution, and customer acquisition activities. The Launcher will also be in charge of all external relationships in Pakistan including and not limited to schools, teacher communities, student communities, the government, and educational institutions. The success metric of this job is the number of students from Pakistan using the Orcas platform to learn this school year.
This position reports directly to the leadership team of Orcas including the CEO.
Responsibilities
Leading the pre-launch market assessment
Engage with market regulators to ensure smooth on ground execution
Align with the product team to ensure all tech requirements are covered
Map the supply landscape and identify the optimal supply structure
Partner with local education providers to get the word out about Orcas platform
Identify key business demand pockets for initial launch as well as develop a 6-month plan as to how the network should mature
Recruit, hire and onboard a local team
Conduct focus groups with customers to capture customer behavior insights
Develop and execute the GTM strategy to create awareness and continually improve conversion
Set pricing and promotion strategies to maximize demand while conscious of unit economics
Testing and iterating on various operational models
Create the required visibility through dashboards to drive data-drive business decisions
Take full ownership over the market’s P&L during the initial launch period
