• What we are looking for is someone who has experience working in a busy accounts office in a trading business.
Duties to include:
• preparing accounts, including weekly / monthly management accounts
• administering payrolls and controlling income and expenditure – this would entail checking all overhead spending and seeing how costs can be saved as well as looking at other suppliers for providing better value for money.
In addition supplier invoices would need to be analysed to prevent overcharging, best buying prices are negotiated and any settlement discounts are taken advantage of
• Ensuring that the accounts office checks all purchase orders to delivery notes to invoices and subsequently to statements
• Negotiating with suppliers for better / extended credit terms
• auditing financial information
• compiling and presenting reports, budgets, business plans, commentaries and financial statements
• financial forecasting and risk analysis
• managing colleagues, workloads and deadlines
